This collections-based study uses phylogenetic analyses of molecular and morphological data to investigate the evolutionary history and systematic problems in two main groups of flowering plants: the grass tribe Poeae (including the large bluegrass genus Poa) and the dicot family Euphorbiaceae. The main goals are to discover diversity, evaluate current classifications and propose changes, and advance our knowledge of these two groups. Data gathered in the course of this research will be used in producing descriptions of new taxa, generic revisions and contributions to major floras.
