Ice Sculpture and Activities

  • Activity – Hands on
  • Bilingual
  • Location: Confederation Park, Ottawa, Ontario

The Canadian Museum of Nature is proud to participate again in Winterlude's Crystal Garden in Confederation Park, this time with a beautiful ice sculpture of a butterfly in celebration of Butterflies in Flight.

Interact with the amazing, six-metre-high installation, Face, where projections play with portraits and mix them with animation. You just have to stand in front of the sculpture to be magically captured on it.

Special activities: February 3, 10 and 17

Back again this year is the fun activity of freeing mini creatures from ice!

Kids get a chance to chip away at a block of ice (tools provided) to extract plastic butterflies.

Younger children will enjoy the fun and cute "bug toss" game.

Winterlude runs from February 2 to 19, 2018.

Ice sculpture: February 2–19
