Did you know there are 221 species of marine fishes in Canada’s Arctic? Learn about this amazing biodiversity as we celebrate the publication of Marine Fishes of Arctic Canada.

Produced by the Canadian Museum of Nature and Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the book is published by the University of Toronto Press.

This is the most comprehensive guide to the marine fishes that populate Canada’s Arctic. It was co-edited by Dr. Brian Coad, now a museum Research Associate, and Dr. James Reist, Research Scientist with Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

Highlights of the book include:

  • the history of Arctic fish research, Arctic climate, Arctic fisheries, fish structure, and the collection and preservation of fishes
  • detailed descriptions of all 221 species, including line drawings and distribution maps
  • photos and illustrations.

Join us for presentations followed by a reception. The book will be available for purchase.

Light refreshments will be served.

Cost: Free. First-come, first-served.
