Public Information Session
Monday, September 16, 2013
6 pm – 8 pm
Registration is not required
The Canadian Museum of Nature invites those interested to a Public Information Session about the museum's proposal for surface parking and landscaping on the west side of its property.
Guests will be able to view display boards outlining the museum's proposed plan for the space over the next five years. Representatives from the museum and the engineering firm will be available to answer questions. Pending approval from the National Capital Commission, the museum will be in a position to implement the plan in 2014.
Overall, the plans will reconfigure and reduce the footprint of surface parking, allowing for 96 spots to meet museum needs. This will maximize the remaining area for public space, which will be landscaped for the benefit of museum visitors and the community.
As stated in earlier advisories, underground parking was explored as a potential option but is not financially feasible.
Plans will be posted at nature.ca/west.
