Rising sea levels can have a variety of devastating effects - including flooding, storm surges, salt water intrusion and soil erosion. Because of their dependance on land and sea, coastal communities are particularily vulnerable to these changes. In the north, entire communities, such as Tuktoyaktuk are even exploring the possiblity of moving to higher ground.
