Join us for the Ottawa première of the National Film Board of Canada’s feature-length documentary Vanishing Point by Stephen A. Smith and Julia Szucs. This special screening is part of our Extraordinary Arctic festival.
Vanishing Point tells the story of two Inuit communities—one on Canada’s Baffin Island, the other in northwest Greenland—that are linked by a migration led by an intrepid shaman.
Navarana is an Inughuit Elder and descendant of the shaman. She draws inspiration and hope from the ties that still bind the two communities as they face the consequences of rapid social and environmental change.
Following the screening, filmmaker Stephen A. Smith will give an insightful talk about his experiences and hopes for the North.
Food and drink available for purchase.
Cost: $20 (taxes included).
