Advisory to the Neighbourhood—West Side Update

Thursday, June 6, 2013

This an update on activity for the west side of the Canadian Museum of Nature related to work over the next few weeks to install an outdoor photo exhibition.

The exhibition, Arctic Experts, will be up in time for Canada Day as part of the museum's 2013 Arctic theme, which commemorates the centennial of the Canadian Arctic Expedition. This temporary exhibition consists of 10 panels that feature Arctic fauna and flora.

To install the panels, holes for footings have been dug just along the inside of the circular walkway. Concrete reinforcements that are flush with the ground will be poured this week, and installation of the signs will follow.

In terms of the bigger picture, the museum continues to discuss with the National Capital Commission about the medium-term plans for parking and green space on the west side. We will soon post an update on our discussions with the NCC and an outline of next steps for the west side.

For additional information, please visit the museum's web site at nature.ca/west.

Sincerely,

Margaret Beckel
