Several Web sites provide online access to data from several of the Canadian Museum of Nature's collections. Basic catalogue information is available, such as catalogue number, scientific name, collector, date collected, province, latitude and longitude.
Animals
Access to data associated with many of Nature's North American specimens is provided through Species Access Canada (of the Canadian Biodiversity Information Facility):
- Anura (frogs and toads): approximately 17 374 records
- Birds: approximately 88 335 records
- Fish: approximately 43 356 records
- Unionoida (freshwater clams): approximately 6299 records

Palynology
Access to data associated with Nature's palynology collection is provided by Artefacts Canada (of the Canadian Heritage Information Network) in approximately 14,500 records. Fossil and modern pollens are included in the collection.
Plants
Access to data associated with many of Nature's specimens is provided through Species Access Canada (of the Canadian Biodiversity Information Facility):
